Two parts from an Australian F-35A, a canopy and a weapons-bay door, were shipped from Australia bound for the United States. According to Bloomberg, a warning email about restricted routing was missed, the shipment was rerouted through Hong Kong, and the parts were held by Chinese authorities.

The US F-35 programme office called the parts unserviceable. Australia's defence minister said he believes they are not sensitive. China's foreign ministry said it was not aware of the situation.

The email scenes in the video are a reconstruction based on reporting. Reports do not say whether the parts went by air or sea.
